Transition profile, as the name implies, use transition sections or strips at transition points between laminate flooring and other floor coverings. Expansion joints need to be installed when laminate flooring is laid to compensate for changes in laminate flooring caused by differences in temperature and air humidity. Transition profiles cover these expansion joints to ensure a harmonious appearance.
Unlike adapter profiles, the two floors connected by transition profiles must have the same height. The adapter profile compensates for the difference in height, and the transition strip simply covers the slightly unsightly transition two-layer floor coverings.
Here are different ways to install transition profiles:
Plastic pins: Transition profiles are held in place by plastic pins that are fixed to the floor, making them look good as well, as there are no screw holes in them.
Adhesive strip: Attach the adhesive strip to the bottom of the profile or fix the transition strip in place by assembling the adhesive strip without seeing any screw holes.
Screws: Some of transition profiles can be unscrewed. This means these profiles have screw holes through which you can screw the profiles into the bottom layer.
